Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How early can I expect you to arrive at my venue?

We usually arrive at your venue for set-up and sound check 90 to 120 minutes prior to start. We will always be set up and playing social/cocktail music when your first guest arrives.

Q. Is Cross Entertainment insured?

Yes. A $1,000,000 liability insurance policy is maintained at all times.

Q. Do you require a deposit?

Yes,  Cross Entertainment performs at only one event per day in order to avoid potential conflicts. A deposit is required to reserve your date with us. Please us call for details.

Q. How do your prices compare with other musical entertainment services in the area?

The fees that Cross Entertainment charges for a wedding is usually about 5%-10% of the total cost of the wedding. However, the entertainment at a reception is one of the things most remembered by guests months after the event. Long after they've forgotten about the food, or even the location of the reception, they will remember if they had fun. They will also remember these important things; Christians can have fun; The Bride and Groom take their faith seriously; and a reception can be presented with dignity and class and without morale compromise.

Purchasing entertainment is a lot like buying a car. You can go cheap and get the smallest car with very limited amenities and questionable quality and reliability.  You can also buy a mid level priced car and get average quality and dependability.  Or you could get a higher priced car with all of the latest options, high dependability and peace of mind that it will last a long time and hold it's value.  With entertainment, you almost always get what you pay for.  What we provide in the way of personaity, equipment, dependability and moral character puts us above the standard

Q: Should we feed the you or your staff?

This is a very common question. It is completely up to you. We are often at your venue location for 8 hours or more (including set up and take down time). I will ask if you intend to feed us during our planning meeting . If not, we will make other arrangments.

Q: Do you provide a light show?

Our light show is part of the all-inclusive package that we offer. There is no extra charge to provide dance floor lighting or haze.

Q: Do you take breaks?

No. We will perform continuously throughout the night. From our scheduled start time until the final song of the evening, the music will be playing (unless of course you request a break for some other reason).

Q:. Do you handle wedding party introductions and announcements for my wedding party?

We will coordinate everything from the cake cutting, to the dinner blessing, to the wedding party speeches, to just about anything else you would like to have incorporated into the evening.

Q;. Do you provide dinner music?

Absolutely!! It is also provided free of additional charge.

Q: How far will you travel?

We will normally travel up to 300 miles in any direction from Kenosha, Wisconsin. Exceptions have been made for greater distances. Considering the current cost of fuel, lodging, etc...,a travel charge may apply.
Please call Bill at 262-455-1634 for further details.

Q: Why does a 4 hour event cost the same as 6 hours or 8 hours?

For a DJ, The 4 hours of dance time during your event is only a fraction of the total time worked. Consider the advance preparation time involed in making your event a total success. For instance, our advance meeting time to go over all the finer details. Additionally, there are several hours of behind the scenes time involved. My sound system contains more than just two speakers and a laptop, but rather a full commercial sound system (with back-up equipment) and a 10-foot lighting truss. My day will begin by loading my trailer. I will then drive to your event, unload, set up, and perform a sound check all before your first guest walks through the door. I will provide cocktail/dinner music before your 4-hour dance actually begins. At the end of the evening (usually midnight) I will tear down and re-load my trailer for the trip back to Kenosha..

Then there is the time and cost of a dependable assistant. As a professional, I also maintain a DJ Liability and equipment insurance policy, the cost of buying music, the cost of buying and maintaining commercial sound and lighting equipment, the cost of owning and maintaining a vehicle capable of transporting the equipment, etc...  All of things are factored into my flat rate. The cool thing about having a flat rate is that you won't have to worry about what your final entertainment cost will be. If something changes, I can arrive early, stay late, or both without extra charges.
